Creating During Mercury Retrograde

Dear Kindred Spirit,

Mercury is retrograde again.

This time it’s retrograde in Cancer, which, in my birth chart, governs vocation and career.

Retrogrades invite us to pause, review, revise, and reconsider. All the re- words belong to retrogrades.

So, over the past few days, I’ve been redoing my website, rewriting my copy, and redesigning pages.

Since the beginning of 2026 I’ve been in the process of creating a new iteration of my business. From life coach to tarot reader.

A few weeks ago I launched my tarot services. It was fun and exciting! But now it’s Mercury retrograde. This energy is calling me into a different type of creativity.

Instead of pushing a creation into being, I’m taking the time to pause, review my work, and shift it into greater alignment.

As I review my website, I’m paying attention to what energizes me in the design and copy—and what doesn’t.

I’m trusting the quiet feeling that I want my website to better reflect how my business is evolving.

I’m letting go of language that still doesn’t feel right and embracing words that feel like home.

Little by little, the site is becoming clearer. And now, every time I scroll through it, I feel a sense of satisfaction. It feels like me.

People often think of Mercury retrograde as a time of confusion when technology goes wonky and communication gets muddled. And this can happen!

But retrogrades don’t create the confusion. Instead, they highlight the places in our lives where more clarity was already needed.

That’s why this is a great time to pause, step back, and review your communications and systems.

If you’re working on a creative project, this is a good moment to review the draft, refine the lines, and reconnect to purpose. Also, this is the moment to make backups!

During this Mercury retrograde (June 29–July 23), what do you feel drawn to review, redo, remake, or reconsider?
