What is Your Next Step?

Dear Kindred Spirit,

I have something special for you this week. You already know how much I love tarot reading, so I thought it would be fun to share a collective reading with all of you.

I pulled three cards while asking the question: What is your next step?

Pick a card from the image, below, and see what message it has for you today.

Enjoy,

Emma

What is your next step?

Here’s what to do:

  1. Think about a decision you are making in your life right now. Hold it in your heart and mind.

  2. Look at the three cards, and notice which one you’re drawn to the most. There is no right or wrong. Try not to overthink it.

  3. Scroll down to your card and read the message I channeled for you.

  4. Contemplate, meditate, or journal about what your next step could be.

Remember, the decisions you make are always up to you. The tarot might bring a different perspective, but you are the author of your life.

Note: Tarot cards can sometimes include violent imagery. Don’t worry if you get a card like this. It’s not foretelling your doom. Instead, we’ll look at the metaphorical meaning of the card.

Card 1 — Ten of Swords.

This isn’t the easiest card to see in the tarot. The image can be disturbing, but the metaphor is where you want to look.

If you were drawn to this card then your next step is to acknowledge that something has ended. You might be experiencing grief or shock. That’s ok. You don’t need to move on quickly. You don’t need to pretend you’re fine. Your next step is to let yourself be in the space where you acknowledge what has come to a close. My heart is with you if you picked this card. A new day will dawn, but don’t rush it. Let yourself be here, now.

Card 2—The Hermit. The Hermit is the card of going within, having alone time, and connecting to your intuition. If you were drawn to this card, your next step is to take some time to yourself, be alone, and get quiet. Journal, contemplate, and meditate on your life. Right now, it might feel like you’re navigating your way through a dark mountain pass. It’s time to turn on the light of your intuition, so you can see in the dark. For you, right now, the way to do that is to quiet the noise of the outside world, so you can hear the clear sound of your own voice.

Card 3—The Tower. The Tower can be another challenging card in the tarot, but it reflects the reality of life, because life isn’t alway easy. Sometimes things fall apart. Sometimes the structures you’ve relied on go away. Those moments are Tower moments. If you were drawn to this card, then your next step is to take 10 deep breaths, and then 10 more. Sometimes the only thing you can do is watch the tower fall while breathing deeply. What’s important now is that you take care of yourself. Is there a tower crumbling around you? If yes, give yourself a moment to accept the new reality you are stepping into. You might also want to read When Things Fall Apart by Pema Chodron.

These aren’t the easiest cards in the tarot, but I know so many of us are walking through challenging times right now. I hope your message helped you feel seen and validated and that it illuminated your next step.
