Hi there, I’m Emma Basu, the founder and resident tarot reader at Tarot & Life Clarity.

I’m so excited for you to experience the transformative power of tarot, but I also know that for some folks tarot can feel intimidating or scary.

I hear you! I grew up in an evangelical church that literally taught us we would get possessed by demons and go to hell if we so much as mentioned tarot cards.

I left the church twenty years ago, and I sought a spiritual path that prioritizes listening to my own voice and intuition, instead of unquestioningly following someone else’s dogma. That search brought me to mystical tools like meditation, energy work, and tarot.

Here’s what I’ve learned: There are certainly people who work with tarot in a dogmatic way. I think you can make a dogma out of just about anything! However, there is also a way to work with tarot that connects you deeply and fully to your own intuitive voice, and that is what I care about the most.

I work with tarot, not as a fortune teller, but as a life clarity guide. Through both my individual sessions and workshops, we work with tarot in order to help you hear your own intuitive voice, because it’s your intuition that will help you feel super clear and confident when you come to life’s crossroads.

Why do we need to work so hard to get clear when other people always seem so confident?

If you’ve made it to this page, I’m going to go ahead and assume you’re an unconventional person. You live (or want to live) outside the box. The typical rules of society never seem to work for you.

Your unconventional self is so awesome! But sometimes, when you compare yourself to others you feel too late, too weird, or too frivolous. You contend with self-doubt, because you probably received negative feedback about who you are when you were growing up.

And even now other people don’t always understand your likes, interests, and choices.

It’s not easy to navigate a world where you feel like the weird one.

And, of course, I’m speaking from experience!

I’ve navigated leaving my religion, going no-contact with my toxic family, getting sober, moving internationally, and changing careers.

For each of these choices, I was doing something outside the societal norms. It was difficult to make decisions where most people didn’t understand what I was doing.

But, for each one I learned how to turn inward and follow the compass of my own heart and soul. And it was so worth it!

Over time, I’ve experienced more and more freedom in my life, and I’ve found a community of friends that get me, support me, and nourish my soul.

My mission is to help you create your own wonderfully unconventional and wildly fulfilling life.
